What is a monitoring service?

A monitoring service records, transcribes and reviews spoken audio on behalf of a customer and delivers the results in a usable form: radio communications, a live stream, an archive of recordings or the output of a receiver. Audera's platform is built around fixed-duration jobs: you define the source, the monitoring period and what you want to find, and Audera returns a searchable record of everything that was communicated during that period.

This is different from a permanent enterprise platform you have to deploy and staff. There is no software to deploy, no channel licence to buy and no ongoing contract. It is designed for situations where somebody needs audio monitored for a day, a week or an event window and wants finished, verifiable output rather than a tool.

What you provide

  • A source. Customer-provided or otherwise legally accessible audio in one of three forms: a live stream (a network stream URL), recordings you already hold (uploaded or linked), or a receiver, scanner or SDR you operate, connected through a small relay. A job can combine several.
  • A monitoring period. A start and end time, from a single day to several weeks.
  • Your criteria. Keywords, names, callsigns, unit identifiers, locations, incident types or the questions you want answered.
  • Confirmation of authorization. Audera only monitors customer-provided or otherwise legally accessible feeds. Customers are responsible for ensuring that any feed they provide is lawful for Audera to monitor, record and process.

How long can a feed be monitored?

Monitoring periods are agreed before the job starts and can range from a single day to several weeks. Short periods suit developing stories, events, operations and investigations. Longer periods suit research datasets and operational reviews. Because the service is temporary by design, you only pay for the period you actually need monitored, and the period can usually be extended if your requirements change. See the frequently asked questions for details on duration, start times and pricing.

Which sources can be monitored?

Audera can monitor any audio you are entitled to have monitored. It reaches us in one of three ways:

  • Live streams: your organization's own radio system or dispatch channel, or a publicly available online audio stream (HTTP, HLS, Icecast, RTSP, RTMP or SRT). The stream must be reachable for the whole monitoring period.
  • Recordings you already hold: audio files from an archive, a receiver log or a past event, uploaded or linked. They are transcribed and analyzed once, timed to the recording.
  • A receiver or device you operate: a scanner, receiver or SDR, or a microphone at a venue, connected through a small relay box that exposes its audio as a stream. We help with the setup.

Audera does not intercept encrypted, private or restricted communications and may decline a job if the feed or its intended use raises legal concerns. Learn more about how the recorded audio is analyzed.

Deliverables

What a completed monitoring job includes

Every job is delivered as files you can keep and search. Findings in the report reference the transcript and the audio they came from.

  • Complete audio recordings

Original monitoring recordings organized by time period, so any moment can be retrieved and replayed.

  • Timestamped transcripts

Searchable transcription of every segment, each linked to the recording it was produced from.

  • Event timeline

Important communications and detected events organized chronologically across the whole monitoring period.

  • Targeted findings

Every occurrence of the keywords, entities, incidents or topics you asked us to watch for, with time and context.

  • Analysis report

A concise written report summarizing relevant activity, patterns and answers to your questions.

  • Audio evidence

Report findings reference the exact audio segment they came from, so every conclusion can be verified against the source.

Process

How a monitoring job works

  1. Set up the job

Add the audio source, the monitoring period and what you want to find.

  2. We monitor the source

Audera records a live source throughout the agreed period, or ingests your recordings in one pass.

  3. Audio becomes searchable data

Speech is transcribed and organized with timestamps and metadata.

  4. We identify what matters

Relevant events, keywords, entities and patterns are extracted.

  5. You receive the results

Get the recordings, transcripts, event data and analysis report.
