Contact AuderaWhat is audio monitoring?
Audio monitoring is the practice of listening to, recording and reviewing spoken audio, radio communications above all, over a period of time to establish what was said, when it was said and whether it is relevant. Done manually, it requires someone to listen continuously, which is slow and error-prone. Audera automates the recording, transcription and review so that hours or days of radio traffic can be searched, filtered and summarized after the fact.
What does the platform do?
Audera records, transcribes and analyzes audio, a radio channel, a stream, recordings or a receiver, on behalf of a customer for an agreed period and delivers the results as recordings, transcripts, detected events and a report. Instead of buying hardware or a permanent software platform, the customer provides a legally accessible feed, a monitoring window and a description of what matters, and receives finished, searchable output at the end of the job.
Can Audera monitor a source for only a few days?
Yes. Audera is designed for fixed-duration monitoring jobs, including short monitoring periods such as a single day, several days or a defined event window. There is no subscription and no installation. You tell us when monitoring should start and stop, and the job is priced and delivered for that period only. Longer periods, including several weeks, are also possible.
What does a monitoring job include?
A monitoring job includes continuous recording of the source for the agreed period, automated transcription with timestamps, detection of events and keywords you have asked us to watch for, a chronological event timeline and a written analysis report. You receive the complete audio archive, the full transcript, the event data in a structured format and the report, with findings linked back to the relevant audio.
Do I receive the original recordings?
Yes. The complete audio captured during the monitoring period is part of every delivery, organized by date and time so that any moment in the transcript or report can be traced back to the original recording. Recordings are delivered in standard audio formats and retained for an agreed period after delivery unless you request otherwise.
Is the audio transcribed?
Yes. Every recorded segment is transcribed with automated speech recognition and stored as timestamped text alongside the audio it came from. Transcription quality depends on the audio quality of the feed, background noise and the vocabulary used, so the transcript is designed to be read together with the recording rather than as a replacement for it.
Can I search the transcript?
Yes. Transcripts are delivered as structured, timestamped text that can be searched by word, phrase, time range or detected entity. Each transcript segment references the audio file and offset it was produced from, so a search result can be checked against the original recording in seconds rather than by scrubbing through hours of audio.
Can Audera look for specific keywords?
Yes. When you set up a job, you can provide keywords, names, callsigns, locations, unit identifiers or topics you want tracked. Every occurrence is logged with a timestamp, the surrounding transcript and a reference to the audio segment, and the report includes a summary of how often and when each item was mentioned.
Can Audera identify relevant events?
Yes. Beyond exact keyword matches, Audera analyzes the transcript to identify notable communications such as incidents, dispatches, status changes, repeated topics and unusual activity, and organizes them into a chronological timeline. Event detection is guided by the questions and criteria you provide, so the results focus on what matters for your purpose.
How long can a monitoring job run?
A monitoring job can run from a single day to several weeks, and the period is agreed before monitoring starts. Short jobs suit developing stories, events and operations. Longer jobs suit research datasets and operational reviews. If your requirements change during the job, the monitoring period can usually be extended.
What kind of audio source can I provide?
Any audio you are legally entitled to have monitored, in one of three forms: a live stream (your own radio system, a dispatch channel or a publicly available online stream, reachable for the whole period), recordings you already hold (uploaded or linked, processed once), or a receiver, scanner or SDR you operate, connected through a small relay that exposes its audio as a stream. One job can combine several sources.
Is monitoring legal?
Whether monitoring a specific feed is legal depends on the jurisdiction, the type of radio service and how the recordings are used. Audera only monitors customer-provided or otherwise legally accessible feeds and does not intercept encrypted, private or restricted communications. We recommend confirming the legal position for your feed and purpose before requesting monitoring, and our terms require that you do so.
Who is responsible for authorization to monitor a feed?
The customer is responsible for ensuring that any feed they provide is lawful for Audera to monitor, record and process for the requested purpose. When you set up a job, you confirm that you have the necessary rights or authorization. Audera may decline a job if the feed or the intended use raises legal concerns.
How quickly can a monitoring job begin?
A monitoring job can usually begin shortly after the feed has been confirmed to be reachable and the monitoring period and criteria have been agreed. The main factors are how quickly the feed can be verified and whether a custom analysis scope is required. Contact us with your start date and we will confirm whether it can be met.
How much does it cost?
Monitoring starts at €89 per feed-day, where a feed-day is 24 hours of monitoring on one feed. Record & Transcribe is €89, Monitor with the event timeline and analysis report is €189, and Monitor with real-time alerts is €389 per feed-day, excluding VAT. Jobs of three days or more are discounted automatically, additional feeds are 30% off, and the minimum order is €249. The exact price is shown in your account before you pay.
Need a feed monitored for a defined period?
Create an account, add the source, the period and what you are looking for, and see the fixed price before you pay. Monitoring is scheduled the moment payment clears.
